Starry Nights

The Starry Nights grant will enhance the Earth and Space Science Unit by providing students with an opportunity to gain personal experience maintaining and operating a telescope to view features in the night sky. Students will create learning stations for public viewing on "Starry Nights" that will describe and explain celestial features and events.
"I am pleased to have received this grant because it will provide an opportunity for students to learn more about one of the oldest sciences, astronomy. The concept of a 'star party' centers on learning more about the night sky and having some fun in the process. Students can approach it as an opportunity to do an in-depth science project or as the beginning of a lifelong hobby.” - Frank Lenox
